George renamed the restaurant Annie’s Paramount Steakhouse in the early 1960’s in honor of Annie’s devotion to her customers. They were like night and day! Sue was pragmatic, meticulous and loving, Annie was vivacious, fun and known to entertain! Both women were huge draws for many patrons throughout the years. George, with the help of his five sisters, successfully ran the restaurant and always welcomed the community with open arms.Īnnie and Sue, two of George’s sisters, both worked behind the bar. The restaurant was located at the corner of 17th and Church Streets in the Dupont Circle neighborhood of Washington, DC. Miller's offers a full bar along with a surf or turf menu. The fries were out of a bag but cooked well. The crab cake was moist, with the perfect amount of breading and a nice pepper finish. The scallops were fresh and slightly sweet, the shrimp was cooked perfectly. My fiancé ordered Broiled Special of Scallops and Shrimp soaked in a garlic, butter, chardonnay sauce with a Crab Cake and fries. The potato and asparagus were cooked perfectly. The fish was good enough to stand on its own. The cold crab and tomatoes offered a weird contrast to the dish. The hollandaise was light in flavor but prepared well. The fish was light, flaky and well seasoned. This was made with blackened snapper, chilled crab meat, diced tomatoes and a warm citrus hollandaise. However, there was a slight sour note on the finish that kinda took away from the soup.įor my entrée I had the special of the day, Red Snapper with asparagus and a loaded baked potato. The crab was cooked wonderful, light flaky and slightly sweet. The tomatoes seemed like an afterthought and didn't help the dish. There was a slight heat bite on the tongue at the end. The dip was cheesy and buttery, the crab was fresh and slightly sweet and just melted in your mouth.
